9/25/2023 0 Comments Diablo 3 eternal collection redditThe only thing that's "optional" is if you only plan on playing very little. Again, it's more and more stuff to get to clog up your stashes/ tabs. They are refreshing until you realize how many different mechanics and collectibles there are to get. No they together are more than the cost of D2R. Yeah and there are quite a few special tabs. Overall I very much prefer D2R, but I still like to play a bit of D3 seasons from time to time to complete the season journey and then come back to D2(R), PoE or Last Epoch :D You can also grind unlimited 'paragon' levels, but that gets very tedious and boring quickly. D3 on the other hand is a lot more streamlined and items are very much simplified and not as complex and interesting as they are in D2, but D3 arguably has a more fleshed out endgame where you try to progress further and further in 'greater rifts' and level up your legendary gems through them to get stronger and stronger. My opinion is that D2R is definitely the better game overall, but there's no 'real endgame' that exists in D2 apart from killing Uber bosses, so the playerbase made up their own endgame like farming lvl85 areas for loot, making up their own loot runs, creating different character builds, trading items online with other players (which btw is not possible in D3).
